Cimarrona is an observational documentary film; that will follow in the footsteps of a group of women who fight for social and financial changes that permanently impact their process of self-liberation and sustainability. From a point of view of struggle we will share with the different leaders and protagonists, who will pass between meetings with landowners, managers of banks or cooperatives, financiers, planning and their daily lives, where we will live day by day in these processes, with the in order to begin the in-depth conversations about the capitalist economic systems faced by women of color in Puerto Rico. With a duration of 40 minutes we will capture the feeling of helplessness experienced by women who do not have access to recurring capital to acquire a safe roof and / or start a new business on their own. Most of the women of color in Puerto Rico do not have collaterals to support them in economic development processes where they are required to have a financial base that minimizes the risk of entities when acquiring property or intending to establish a business. In a struggle between power and will, breaking with the poverty of black women is an even greater challenge, we will see a political narrative that impacts the daily life of all. From the point of view of self-liberation, we will see women in that growth to break with the ties of the patriarchal system that ties them. Observing their achievements and their challenges, we will participate in the strengthening of their economic systems and the process of acquiring the land that the system owes them.

Cimarrona es una película documental observacional; que seguirá los pasos de un grupo de mujeres que luchan por cambios sociales y financieros que impactan de forma permanente su proceso de auto liberación y sustentabilidad. Desde un punto de vista de lucha compartiremos con las diferentes lideresas y protagonistas, que transitaran entre reuniones con dueños de terrenos, gerentes de bancos o cooperativas, financiadores, planeación y su vida cotidiana, donde viviremos el día a día en estos procesos, con el fin de comenzar las conversaciones profundas sobre los sistemas económicos capitalistas, a los que se enfrentan las mujeres de color en Puerto Rico. Con una duración de 40 minutos buscamos plasmar la sensación de impotencia que viven las mujeres que no tienen acceso a capital recurrente para adquirir un techo seguro y/o emprender por su cuenta un nuevo negocio. La mayor parte de las mujeres de color en Puerto Rico no tienen colaterales que les apoyen en los procesos de desarrollo económico donde se les exige tener una base financiera que minimice el riesgo de las entidades al adquirir una propiedad o pretenda establecer un negocio. En una lucha entre el poder y el querer, romper con la pobreza de las mujeres negras es un reto aún mayor, veremos una narrativa política que impacta la cotidianidad de todas. Desde el punto de vista de la auto liberación veremos a las mujeres en ese crecimiento de romper con las ataduras del sistema patriarcal que les amarra. Observando sus logros y sus retos seremos partícipes del fortalecimiento de sus sistemas económicos y el proceso de adquisición de la tierra que el sistema les debe.
